Relieving Empty Nest Syndrome

When one or more children leave home, it can sometimes feel like you've lost them. Parents may feel a great sense of freedom and pride in their child's independence; however, it's not unusual to feel an intense feeling of loss, worry, sadness and/or grief. After all, children usually live at home for at least the first 17 or 18 years of their lives, so parents are very accustomed to seeing them, hearing their voices, and interacting with them on a daily basis. It can be difficult to adjust to their absence.

The difficult emotions associated with empty nest syndrome generally "come and go." Sometimes regrets about the past or unpleasant memories surface. EFT is perfectly suited to managing and overcoming empty nest syndrome because, once learned, the technique can be used by the client at home, as needed, to feel better quickly.
