Professional History

Susan Kano is an author, speaker and personal performance coach. Her self-help book, Making Peace with Food, is considered a seminal work in the field of eating disorders and has been used by over 100,000 people and been published in four languages.

For fourteen years, Susan devoted her career to helping people overcome weight problems, food and weight obsessions, and low self-esteem. She conducted workshops, spoke at eating disorder conferences, appeared on television and radio talk shows, and traveled to colleges and universities all over the U.S. to present to students, and teach seminars for health center staff, athletic coaches and resident advisors.

Susan also has extensive experience in the business world. She founded and ran a small, profitable publishing company. Later, she spent seven years at Lexia Learning Systems, Inc., an educational software and curriculum provider, where she was a Vice President.

Despite all of her success, Susan has a deep understanding of how painful and difficult it can be to confront personal problems, health problems, and professional problems. She has suffered from, and overcome: yo-yo dieting followed by borderline anorexia, low self-esteem, bronchial asthma, rheumatoid arthritis, a vision problem, severe PMS, and chronic headaches.

Susan now melds her knowledge of self-empowerment, business, and EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) to help people in all walks of life achieve their personal and professional goals.
