Eliminating Performance Anxiety
One of the most common forms of performance anxiety is the fear of public speaking; however, performance anxiety comes in many other forms. Whether the anxiety is related to public speaking, athletic competition, making sales calls, or going on job interviews, performance anxiety is a fear of failure and, often, a fear of embarrassment and humiliation. The fear can be so intense that you are incapable of doing things that you desperately need or want to do. Or, the fear may prevent you from performing at your best due to excessive nervousness.
Some people are aware of past experiences that have led to their particular form of performance anxiety, while others have no idea where the feelings came from. Fortunately, EFT can be applied in either case. "Simple" cases of performance anxiety can typically be eliminated in one or two coaching sessions. More complex cases require a greater number of sessions and, sometimes, additional techniques.
